Pallium Palliative Pocketbook:

The Pallium Palliative Pocketbook was released in September
2008. It is a practical, peer-reviewed pocketbook intended
to support safe, ethical, effective and accountable palliative
clinical service interventions in various community-based
settings of care (e.g., home, hospice, community hospital,
long term/continuing care, community cancer care, etc.)

Obtaining Methadone Exemption License:
The content of this package is intended to facilitate obtaining
a general or patient specific Methadone Exemption License.The
package includes: Methadone Exemption License application
(to be faxed to Health Canada), an article by one of our palliative
care consult physicians ( a discussion of clinical management
of patients receiving methadone), Review of Methadone drug-drug
interactions (Inhibitors and inducers of Methadone metabolism)
, and a list of several Edmonton pharmacies that stock methadone.
If you are in the process of obtaining a Patient Specific
Methadone Exemption License for a patient that is managed
in collaboration with Edmonton palliative care program, a
letter of support for your application can be provided to
the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta by the palliative
care consultant involved in the same patient care.
Organ and Tissue Donation:

A resource tool for clinicians to aid in having the conversation,
frequently asked questions, criteria for donation and contact
information. Also available is a printable brochure for your
patients and families who may wish to consider sharing the
gift of life with others as part of end of life care.
